God of War Ragnarok - Niflheim: Ice Forms Renders + Houdini Tool

An overview of the Houdini Tool loading cached stages of ice models.

These are a selection of the procedural ice models I made as the Level Lead for Niflheim.
The tool used to make them is also near the bottom of the post.

The goal in this level was to create ice forms that felt original/unique, something you hadn't seen in other media. The idea being that the unstable tectonic land of Niflheim would sprout these flowing liquid forms that froze in the air. My approach to creating the forms landed on creating a "hands off" entirely procedural modeling tool in Houdini (no outside inputs needed). The tool was used to create all of the ice forms in Niflheim including icicles and even cards.
